Canadian airline WestJet will resume flights to the province of Cienfuegos starting December 10, according to a recent announcement by Gihana Galindo Enriquez, the new director of the Cuban Tourism Office in Toronto.

In July, WestJet presented its winter 2025-2026 schedule, revealing new routes that will strengthen its connectivity to sunny destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean.

According to the data provided at the time, the Canadian airline will operate a total of 305 routes, covering 62 destinations in the region, with a 3% increase in departures compared to the previous winter.

The Toronto-Havana route will have a twice-weekly frequency, extending until April 23, 2026.From Ontario, the airline had already announced its first flight to the Cuban capital, in addition to a significant increase in frequency to Varadero (Cuba), Cancún (Mexico), and Samaná (Dominican Republic).

Now the general flight schedule includes new routes to those three countries, as well as Costa Rica and Nicaragua.

“With these strategic additions, we reiterate our commitment to being the airline of choice for winter sun seekers,” John Weatherill, WestJet executive vice president and chief commercial officer, told the press. Tickets for the 2025-2026 winter schedule were made available beginning July 14, 2025.
