Gihana Galindo Enriquez, director of the Cuban Tourism Board in Toronto, issued a statement thanking Sunwing Vacations and WestJet for their valuable contributions to the upcoming shipment of humanitarian aid to Cuba.

“Their commitment, solidarity and generosity toward our country are truly appreciated,” she noted.

The new 40-foot shipment, destined for Mayabeque, includes food, toiletries, medical supplies, clothing and bicycles for children at orphanages, as detailed on the Facebook page of the Juan Gualberto Gómez Association of Cuban Residents in Toronto.

On April 20, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla expressed his gratitude for Canada’s decision to provide additional assistance to Cuba, aimed at supporting health services, medicines and food aid, as announced by his counterpart Anita Anand, at a time when the island faces a tightening of the US blockade.
