Tourism remains a priority for Cuba, with all resort operations functioning normally and securely for the 2025/2026 winter season, the Cuba Tourist Board in Toronto confirmed.
Specialized publication Canadian Travel News conveyed confidence to travelers and industry partners that the destination continues to securely reopen, especially to the Canadian market, Cuba’s main source of tourists. This confidence is supported by the reported 15% increase in arrivals between November 2025 and January 2026.
Furthermore, it noted that the Ministry of Tourism took proactive measures during the fall to ensure a smooth winter peak season. These measures included the supply of fuel, food and other products.
Likewise, Cuba’s hotel infrastructure maintains full energy autonomy to guarantee an uninterrupted experience for guests, as the main resorts are equipped with independent power systems and emergency generators, with fuel supplies for continuous operation.
As reported, Gihana Galindo, director of the Cuban Tourist Board in Toronto, noted that “Tourism operations are progressing normally, with all services functioning as usual in resort areas.”
“We are incredibly grateful to our valued travel partners and the Canadian public for their continued support. The positive feedback from returning visitors is the driving force behind our double-digit growth.”
The expanded flight capacity from Canada reflects the sustained confidence in what Cuba has to offer. New routes have recently been launched from Moncton to Varadero, Cayo Coco, and Holguín; from Fredericton to Cayo Coco and Santa Clara; and from Halifax to Santa Clara.
