As we approach the last day of the year, Cubans in the western region should prepare for wintry weather. According to meteorologist Raydel Ruisanchez, via his Facebook page, the lowest temperatures of the season are anticipated.
A cold front is approaching the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to reach western Cuba between the afternoon of Tuesday, December 30, and the early hours of December 31. This system will bring an increased chance of rain, although it is expected that, upon arrival, it will be weakened, resulting in minimal precipitation.
Starting Wednesday, the influence of migratory high pressure systems of continental origin will begin to be felt, generating stronger northerly winds and higher waves along the northwestern coast.
The arrival of the cold air mass will be noticeable starting December 31, causing a significant drop in maximum temperatures across the western half of the country. As there are still a few days until the end of the year, the expert assures that more precise forecasts will be available as the date approaches. Undoubtedly, this New Year’s Eve and the beginning of the new year will be marked by cool weather, ideal for those looking to enjoy a different kind of celebration on the island.
