Festival Varadero Josone 2025: Under the stars of Varadero

More than 30 national and international artists will gather in the heart of the tourist resort of Varadero to share their music at the Festival Varadero Josone 2025, from August 25 through to 31.

Opening at 8:00 p.m. this Wednesday, attendees will enjoy performances by Adriano DJ, Nube Roja, JG, Isaac Delgado (founder and president of the Festival), and Micha, all Cuban artists.

Adriano DJ (Cuba)

Adriano Marín Quesada is a Cuban DJ and producer, founder of the Havanean2 project and creator of the popular show TOP TEN, which brings together the most renowned artists of the urban scene. He has worked with figures such as Jacob Forever, Gente de Zona, Srta. Dayana, and El Chacal. He has performed on stages in Mexico, the United States, and the Dominican Republic, establishing himself as one of Cuba’s most influential and versatile DJs.

Nube Roja (Cuba)

Cuban band that fuses pop, funk, rock, jazz, and electronic music to create an original and avant-garde sound. Made up of drums, piano, bass, guitar, saxophone, and keyboards, the band stands out for the visual power of its concerts and its performative style. The group has thrilled on stages such as the Cuban Art Factory and the Poor Film Festival, establishing itself as a leading figure in postmodern music on the island and the voice of a new generation.

JG (Cuba)

Since 2009, JG has led his own group, where he blends salsa, timba, and urban rhythms, accumulating six albums. He has shared the stage with iconic figures and taken his music on tours throughout Mexico, Venezuela, Peru, and Europe. His accolades, including the Lucas Award and Cubadisco nominations, position him as one of the leading exponents of popular dance music.

Isaac Delgado and his Orchestra (Cuba)

With over four decades of experience, Delgado has established himself as a leading figure in popular dance music. Throughout his career, he has received more than ten Grammy Award nominations and was awarded the Latin Grammy for Best Traditional Tropical Album for “Cha Cha Chá: Homenaje a lo tradicional.” He participated in the album “The Last Mambo,” winner of the Grammy for Best Tropical Music Album, produced by renowned Cuban bassist Israel López “Cachao.” He is the founder and president of the Varadero Josone Festival, dedicated to celebrating Cuban music and culture. His most recent work, “Mira Como Vengo,” pays tribute to salsa, timba, and flamenco.

El Micha (Cuba)

Michael Fernando Sierra Miranda (El Micha) is a renowned exponent of the urban genre. His musical versatility has allowed him to explore genres such as rap, hip hop, reggaeton, reggae, and rumba, consistently placing him in the charts. He has collaborated with renowned artists such as Daddy Yankee, Nicky Jam, J. Balvin, Farruko, Alain Daniel, and Paulo FG. His influence on the Cuban music scene continues to grow today.

Recap of the previous two nights

The first night of the event was pure energy: a kickoff that blended voices, rhythms, and styles on a single stage, igniting the party from the beginning to the last chord, according to social media.

The opening program included performances by Moncada, Iván “El Hijo de Teresa,” David Torrens, Cándido Fabré, and Velito el Bufón.

Artists from Colombia, the United States, Spain, Puerto Rico, and Cuba are attending this fifth edition of the festival, according to the Cuban News Agency.

On Tuesday night, David Blanco, Luchando Sessions: Rum and Coke, Mama estoy brillando, Elito Revé y su Charangón, and Ja Rulay surprised the audience with their talent.

Tickets can be purchased in person in Havana, Matanzas, Cárdenas, Varadero, and Santa Marta; while online, they can be purchased through La Papeleta.

The Ministries of Culture and Tourism, the Provincial Directorate of Culture of Matanzas, the National Center for Popular Music, the Cuban Institute of Music, and the Música Punto Cero project are involved in the management and promotion of Varadero Josone.
