Turpial Airlines, the main airline of the Venezuelan state of Carabobo, announced the launch of direct flights from Caracas to Varadero, Cuba, starting July 28.
Speaking exclusively to Sol de Cuba, sources familiar with the new service detailed that flights to the island’s famous tourist resort will operate weekly, with the option of booking packages for three, five, or seven nights. The return to Venezuela can be arranged through the airline’s other flight routes to Cuba.
Turpial operates a total of four weekly flights to the archipelago, one of them to Santiago de Cuba, a province considered the cultural and historical center of the eastern part of the country, and three direct flights to Havana, one of which will now be scheduled to Varadero.
Founded in 2016, Turpial began operations in 2017 and is approaching a decade of experience in its mission to provide quality air transportation services. Its first international flight was to Panama City, while flights to Cuba began three years ago.
Its current fleet includes the Virgen de la Chinita (Boeing 737-400), the Virgen de Coromoto (Boeing 737-400), and the Virgen del Valle (Boeing 737-400).
Recently, executives from the Cuban Ministry of Tourism presented the country’s attractions in several cities in Venezuela.
In May, both nations signed agreements at the culmination of the 7th Meeting of Tourism Ministers of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of the Americas-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) to promote the development of the sector.
Last week, Rutaca Airlines launched operations between Valencia (Carabobo) and Havana with two weekly flights.
