A new issue of Sol de Cuba, the Ministry of Tourism’s magazine, launches in the context of the International Tourism Fair, which began on January 21 at the IFEMA exhibition center in Madrid.

In an Editorial Note, Cuban Minister of Tourism Juan Carlos García Granda expresses his satisfaction with this issue, which showcases “the richness, diversity and vitality of our tourist destination.”

“We share this publication with the purpose of strengthening communication about our attractions, opening new opportunities for collaboration, and reiterating Cuba’s commitment to sustainable, inclusive and high-quality tourism,” he adds. He further explains that Cuba’s presence at FITUR 2026, one of the most important international trade fairs in the sector, allows authorities to share its culture, the beauty of its beaches, the hospitality of its people, and the unique character of its heritage cities with professionals from around the world. “FITUR is also a platform for dialogue, establishing partnerships, and projecting the future of Cuban tourism in an increasingly competitive global context,” he states.

García Granda emphasizes the importance of effectively communicating Cuba’s tourism potential, stating, “We want every visitor to discover a country that combines tradition and modernity, relaxation and adventure, history and future.”

The article highlights the expansion of international air connections as a key element, noting that new routes have opened early this 2026 between several cities in Canada, Cuba’s main source market, and the archipelago’s most important tourist destinations.

The minister also reiterates the willingness to engage in dialogue with business owners, tour operators, travel agents, and representatives of hotel chains who wish to join Cuba’s tourism development strategy. “We are convinced that cooperation and innovation are fundamental pillars for moving toward a more diverse, competitive and sustainable tourism sector.”

The pages of Sol de Cuba document the main developments and strategies being promoted by Cuba in one of its key economic sectors. The issue also presents experiences, events and destinations of interest for those who choose to vacation in the archipelago.
