Andrés Rossi, commercial director of OLA Mayorista de Turismo, the fastest-growing operator in the Argentine market, is walking the streets of Havana and the sands of Varadero this week, leading nearly 100 travel agents who will accompany him in authentic experiences in Cuba.

OLA Mayorista de Turismo, which belongs to CVC Group, the largest travel company group in Latin America, is holding its annual convention this week in the Caribbean destination. For Rossi, Cuba is a priority in the region. He predicts the event’s success and thanked the Meliá Hotels chain for the suggestion and initiative.

During the welcoming ceremony for the southern group, Giana Galindo Enríquez, commercial director of the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur), presented Cuba as an attractive destination in the Caribbean, with beautiful, sargassum-free beaches, diverse culinary offers, and comfortable facilities.

She highlighted the opportunities for ecotourism, birdwatching, wedding and celebration tourism, as well as sports and adventure activities.

The Mintur commercial director highlighted the modern hotel infrastructure, consisting of more than 84,000 rooms, and the collaboration with foreign management companies that ensure a high level of comfort and sustainability.

She said that starting in January of next year, the tourist visa to visit Cuba will be digital only and announced new hotels and themed concepts in development.

“In Cuba, there are air connections to explore different regions of the island, including its beaches and the city of Santiago de Cuba,” reported Galindo Enríquez.

The proposal, presented this Thursday at the emblematic Havana Café of the Meliá Cohíba hotel in the capital, seeks to offer authentic experiences that connect visitors with the local culture and the heritage values and hospitality of its people.

First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Tourism, Jorge Alberto García Dominguez, Deputy Minister Yamily Aldama Valdés, Commercial Director of Cuban Civil Aviation Yoanka Acosta Ortiz, and executives from Cuban hotel chains, along with Gonzalo Echevarría, the general manager of Meliá Hotels in the country, welcomed participants to the annual convention of the leading South American tour operator.

With 30 years of experience, OLA Mayorista de Turismo positions itself in the market through innovation, dynamism, and technology.

Up until the close in August, travel from the Argentine market to Cuba showed 6% growth compared to the same period last year.

For a week, Argentines will visit important Havana facilities, from the Plaza de la Revolución to the iconic nine o’clock cannon ceremony. The event will take place in the conference hall of the Meliá Internacional Varadero hotel, currently at a high occupancy rate.
