Hundreds of comments from international travelers sharing their experiences on Cuban beaches have been posted on Facebook by Mike Fisher, a passionate lover of the Caribbean country, its culture and its people, who describes himself as a “Full Time Traveller.”

After issuing a call inviting people to post their best beach photo on the island, along with the resort and date, a wave of comments ensued describing the wonders of Cuba’s beaches, led by Varadero, the most famous.

The resort was recently selected among the five best beach destinations in the Caribbean, according to TripAdvisor, thus earning the right to display the 2026 Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best seal, awarded to only 10 percent of the thousands of attractions listed on the well-known website.

At Sol de Cuba, we share some of the beaches that received the most praise in the comments on Mike’s post, along with memories of those places.

Brisas del Caribe, Varadero

“Every February for the last 11 years…except this year!” (Marlie Hampe)

Hotel Brisas del Caribe is located on Varadero Beach and is an all-inclusive resort, ideal for families with children. It offers multiple programs for children aged 5 to 12, with kids’ clubs, play areas and specialized entertainment.

Cayo Santa María

“Cayo Santa Maria 2022 and no filter! This is by far the nicest beach I’ve seen in Cuba and pretty much anywhere else.” (Rosanna Abrahim)

Hotel Cayo Santa María Beach Resort is conveniently located with all amenities within easy reach, and also features electric carts for guests to move around the hotel with ease. It offers swimming pools, a gym, a spa, dance classes and tennis courts. And if that weren’t enough, the beach is just steps from the hotel, where you can snorkel and enjoy kayaking, catamaran sailing and paddleboat rides.

Playa Paraíso, Cayo Largo del Sur

“November 2023. You can walk for hours and yours will be the only footsteps in the sand. It’s like being in the Caribbean back in the 1930s. No signs of civilization. Just you, nature, and your thoughts.” (Ted Shaughnessy)

One of the advantages of Playa Paraíso is its proximity to restaurants, offering typical Cuban cuisine or a more casual menu of snacks and pizza if that’s what you prefer. There are also several accommodations in the area, such as the Hotel Sol Cayo Largo and the Hotel Pelícano.

Playa Pilar, Cayo Guillermo

“My beautiful daughter. At playa pilar, cayo guilermo, cayo coco cuba, taken dec 9 2025.”  (Christia Bucasas García)

Playa Pilar is located on Cayo Guillermo, one of the keys in the Cuban province of Ciego de Ávila. It is a pristine beach, surrounded by enormous dunes that reach up to 16 meters in height and palm trees that give it an even more paradisiacal appearance. The beach is characterized by its fine, light-colored sand and its calm, turquoise, crystal-clear waters.

Playa Alameda

“Iberostar Playa Alameda. First travel in Cuba last year and surely not the last one! Staff is amazing, beach is wonderful! (Lucas Godart)

The Iberostar Playa Alameda is a 5-star all-inclusive hotel for adults only, ideal for spending a holiday in Cuba as a couple or with friends.

Memories Caribe, Cayo Coco

“Memories Caribe, Cayo Coco. Someone dug a heart in the sand. Place your phone in it. Take a selfie. I almost cropped out the guy top right but realized he makes it a funny shot.” (Lizette McCormack-Stuckless)

Located along the pristine shores of Cayo Coco, Memories Caribe stands as an exclusive adults-only retreat, catering to guests 16 and older. This all-inclusive resort boasts a large pool, velvety white sands and all-day entertainment, guaranteeing an idyllic experience for couples, groups and solo travelers.
