With a design adjusted to the current context in Cuba, the Salsa Festival begins its 10th edition this Friday, February 27, and will run until Sunday, with more than 600 confirmed foreign tourists.

The adjustments to the program include moving the concerts from their usual venue at Club 500 to the Estación Cultural at Línea and 18th Streets, which significantly reduces production costs and facilitates access for dancers from the surrounding municipalities, according to a press release.

The evenings will be enlivened by four of the country’s top bands, who will delight those in attendance. The event logistics include measures to facilitate the orderly arrival and departure of spectators who choose to walk to the venue, and parking will be provided for those arriving by car.

The press release, published on the Cubadebate website, explains that holding the festival in this format will allow for the creation of a new management model that could be applied to other cultural events in the country.

Holding the Salsa Festival is a response to its widespread popularity among broad sectors of the public and to the Cuban government’s commitment to providing recreational activities for the population through cultural programming, tailored to the available resources at any given time.

Furthermore, it is a self-financed event, with no expenditures from the state budget, and will generate profits in both national and hard currency and for state and non-state economic actors.
