Various preventive measures have been undertaken by Cubanacan hotels in anticipation of Hurricane Melissa, which is expected to hit Cuba starting tonight.
Cleaning, organizing and safeguarding all resources at its facilities in Camagüey, Las Tunas, Granma, Holguín and Santiago de Cuba Is ongoing, as part of the preventive measures plan for the potential impact of the hurricane, as detailed on the company’s social media.

As throughout the Caribbean, the island of Cuba can be impacted by hurricanes; however, the damage caused by them is usually less severe than in other regions due to the strong prevention strategy.
Protecting life is a national priority.On the forecast track, the eye of Melissa is expected to move near or over Jamaica early Tuesday, before heading toward southeastern Cuba overnight or early Wednesday morning as a Category 3 or 4 hurricane, according to the Cuban Institute of Meteorology’s Forecast Center in its latest report.
