Cuba presents its main attractions at the MITT Moscow 2026 International Travel and Tourism Exhibition, held at the Crocus Expo center, from March 11.

More than 1,000 exhibitors from 40 countries have gathered at the expo center for the 32nd edition of the event, and according to Prensa Latina news agency, the Caribbean island showcased its most popular destinations for Russian tourists, among the most popular in Latin America and the Caribbean.

During the opening ceremony, Cuban Ambassador to Russia, Enrique Orta, emphasized the commitment of Havana and Moscow to the full recovery of bilateral tourism, which has been affected by the restrictions of the fuel blockade imposed by the United States. “I can assure you that the mutual desire of our countries is to fully restore tourism,” the diplomat stated.

Orta also highlighted Cuba’s ability to face challenges and noted that national authorities are working intensively to guarantee visitors authentic experiences and genuine hospitality.

In this edition, Oman was named the official partner country of MITT 2026, coinciding with a record increase in Russian tourist arrivals to that destination. The Omani Director General of Tourism Promotion, Haitham al Ghassani, emphasized that Russian travelers have discovered a land where Arab hospitality blends with exceptional natural landscapes.

The organizers of MITT remain focused on fostering business expansion and strengthening tourism connections between the Russian market and various countries that rely on Moscow as a key source market. Domestic tourism in Russia has shown strong growth, exceeding 90 million trips by 2025.

Furthermore, the exhibition reflected the resurgence of international interest in Russia, which welcomed 4.8 million foreign visitors last year, solidifying MITT’s position as a key platform for cultural exchange and global tourism promotion.

This trade fair is one of the most influential events in the global tourism industry. Founded in 1995 and held annually in Moscow, it brings together thousands of exhibitors, travel agents, and industry professionals from over 130 countries, making it a unique space for establishing strategic partnerships, showcasing new tourism products, and discussing global market trends.

MITT also features a comprehensive program of conferences, workshops, and networking activities that foster international collaboration within the tourism sector.
