Artex, Artistic and Literary Promotions, through its Cultura Paradiso Tourism Agency, announces the 18th edition of the international event, Baila en Cuba (Dance in Cuba), to be held from November 16 to 2 in Havana, the capital of all Cubans, designated a UNESCO Creative City in the field of music.

The World Meeting of Casino and Salsa Dance Academies and Dancers, as the event is also known, features academic and practical workshops.

It also includes dance competitions for couples, designed for participants, where creativity, technique and passion for Cuban rhythms and dances are rewarded.

Workshops in Casino, Timba, Chachachá, Folklore and Master Classes, taught by professors from the Faculty of Dance Arts of the University of the Arts, as well as Lady/Men Style, a discipline that allows for practice and improvement of techniques and styles that develop the expression and confidence of the dancer, will enable lovers of dance and Cuban rhythms, from various latitudes, to not only learn, but also become promoters of Cuban identity and culture.

The event will feature performances by popular Cuban dance bands, who will take to the stage at the Salón Rosado de la Tropical Benny Moré for five nights (excluding the opening night). Participants will put their morning routines into practice, and each show, organized by PMM, will also include entertainment and DJ sets.

The Organizing Committee announced the concert program: Monday, November 17, with Adalberto Álvarez y su Son; November 18, Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco; November 19, Elito Revé y su Charangón; Thursday, November 20, with Issac Delgado y su Orquesta; and Friday, November 21, with Maykel Blanco y su Salsa Mayor. The event is part of the celebrations for the 506th anniversary of the founding of Havana.

Tickets for the evening concerts are available at the Paradiso Artex sales office and at the Salón Rosado of La Tropical Benny Moré.
