Gaviota Merit Award recognizes professionalism and exceptional performance

Nine professionals received the Gaviota Merit Award on September 19, in the context of the celebration of the 7th Destinos Gaviota 2025 Tourism Trade Fair, which recognizes them for their dedication and exceptional performance.
Carlos M. Latuff, president of the Gaviota Tourism Group, was present at the awards ceremony, which was also attended by the press invited to the event, based in Cayo Santa María, who joined in congratulating the winners.
In the Creativity and Professional Excellence category, the award went to Noel David Fernández Zaldívar, who, with more than 30 years of experience, has held various positions as a pastry chef and master pastry chef in major hotels.
In Leadership, Professionalism and Dedication, the outstanding career of Francisco Alvelo Rodríguez, a financial management specialist with an outstanding track record of more than 18 years at the Gaviota Group, was recognized.
In the Commitment and Innovative Capacity category, Sulen Quesada Hernández, a computer science specialist, was recognized. Her competent management of critical systems such as DISTRA, SGOCFLOT and SCOGREV, along with her contribution to the company’s computerization process, demonstrate her professionalism and dedication.
Dedication, Discipline and Teamwork were the categories in which Belkis de la Caridad González Sarduy, a human resources specialist, was recognized. She is considered an all-rounder, versatile and a good leader.
In Versatility and Commitment to Excellence, the winner was Frankis Gamboa Martínez, a room service mechanic. Meanwhile, bartender Augusto Gispert Méndez was recognized for Professionalism and Friendliness, and Maité Sánchez Ortega, vice president of operations and operations management, was recognized for Talent, Discipline and Reliability.
In addition, the Leadership and Innovative Vision Award was presented to Marketing Directo Rafael Giraldo Rodríguez Rodríguez; while Neyver Torres del Toro, head of the Kitchen Group, was awarded for Invaluable Human Quality and Commitment to Service.
