If any destination in Cuba attracts the attention of visitors, it’s Soroa, in Pinar del Río, a privileged natural setting that combines natural beauty with ideal comfort in its many accommodations.

In “the rainbow of Cuba,” as this small oasis located on the edge of the Sierra del Rosario Biosphere Reserve is also known, travelers can stay in a place as peculiar and irresistible as the Castle in the Clouds, part of the Cubanacán Hotel Group.

Of medieval inspiration, it was built in 1940 on the whim of its owner, who spared no expense to make his extravagant dream a reality, according to multiple online reviews.

In fact, on sites like Tripadvisor, those who have visited this part of the country argue that, along with the Soroa Orchid Garden (with more than 20,000 specimens of these plants) and the Salto del Arco Iris, this unusual hotel is among the best in the area, as it offers incredible views of the mountains and the coast.

Inside the Castle, guests can see artifacts belonging to authentic medieval castles that the owner acquired at auction before the triumph of the revolution.

In addition, it offers the usual amenities of high-standard accommodation, designed for escapes from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. An example of this is its relaxing retreat with a spa and pool in the heart of the Sierra.

From the outdoor pool, guests can enjoy the landscape, also visible from the building’s terraces and windows.

The area offers activities such as hiking, birdwatching, and horseback riding.
