The 2026 World Cup is here! Excitement is overflowing across the globe. For 39 days, from June 11 to July 19, millions of fans will experience the adrenaline of every match, as will those who, whilst not experts in the sport, enjoy the passion and unique atmosphere generated by this global event with 104 matches and 48 teams.
In Cuba, anticipation is also growing for what each team has in store. Beyond any predictions, fans are on edge. This global passion will reach hotels and resorts, which will become special venues to follow the matches together, according to announcements on various digital platforms.
Major hotel chains have prepared giant screens, culinary offerings, and recreational activities that invite guests to experience every moment in a safe and festive atmosphere.
The Gran Caribe chain has set up spaces in iconic Havana hotels, such as the Nacional, the Capri, and the Duville, where matches will be broadcast on large-format screens, along with other surprises, according to announcements on digital platforms.
In Varadero and the country’s main tourist destinations, available facilities will offer themed entertainment and special menus, becoming meeting points for locals and visitors alike.
“Cubanacán Hotels is ready for the World Cup!” the renowned chain announced, inviting guests to enjoy each match with excellent culinary offerings and special drinks. Its hotels in the capital and tourist areas offer giant screens and a lively atmosphere to celebrate the passion of football.
The Iberostar Cuba chain, meanwhile, launched its “Experience the Rhythms of Summer to the Fullest” campaign in advance, transforming its hotels into authentic World Cup venues. In Havana, the Hotel Parque Central and the Iberostar Marqués de La Torre, in particular, are offering live broadcasts, guest sports commentators and themed parties, along with team-inspired cocktails, special entertainment and recreational activities for the whole family.
The Meliá Hotels International Cuba group is also joining in with special offerings. At the Meliá Habana’s Tenerife Room, fans can enjoy a giant screen, a variety of dining options, drinks and special promotions in an atmosphere designed to experience the passion of football together. Other hotels in the chain are replicating this initiative in key tourist destinations, enhancing the World Cup experience.
Palmares S.A. company is getting into the spirit, offering themed spaces in restaurants, bars and recreational centers across several provinces. From the Tropicana and the 1830 Restaurant in Havana, to the Puerto del Rey Brewery in Santiago de Cuba and the La Olimpia Sport Bar in Guantánamo, their venues guarantee live broadcasts, diverse cuisine, and a festive atmosphere for every goal.
Furthermore, the 2026 World Cup brings with it key moments that shape the global agenda: the opening match on June 11 at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City; Canada’s debut in Toronto and the United States’ debut in Los Angeles on June 12; and the grand final on July 19 in New York/New Jersey. Added to this are matches featuring classic teams and favorites of Cuban fans, such as Brazil, Argentina, Spain, France and Germany, promising lively and highly anticipated days. These dates offer excellent opportunities to plan your visit to Cuban hotels and other accommodations and experience the passion of football in a unique atmosphere.
With these initiatives, Cuba joins the global football celebration, offering spaces where the passion is experienced with intensity and joy. Beyond the results, what is shared is the spirit of community, Cuban hospitality, and the enthusiasm of a country that enjoys the World Cup with its own unique style.
