The construction of the first 11 electric vehicle charging stations in various parts of Cuba is already underway, according to a statement posted by Dongfeng Cuba car dealership on social media.
In a press release, the company assures that these stations will not depend on the National Electric System, as they will generate their own energy through photovoltaic systems, a practice that is expanding throughout the nation, especially after the imposition of the fuel blockade by the U.S.
According to the project, the stations will be located in Pinar del Río, 1st Avenue and 0 Street (Miramar, Havana), Peñas Altas (Dongfeng), the Todo en 1 (Varadero), km 79, km 177, km 259 and km 336 if the national highway, as well as in Camagüey, Holguín and Santiago de Cuba.
Electric transportation has become a viable alternative across the island, and Dongfeng Cuba operates precisely within this market segment. Their business model focuses on offering new vehicles, after-sales support, and technical assistance throughout the entire purchasing process. This presence is combined with their local operations for distribution, support, and customer service.
Their 2026 catalog includes SUVs, sedans, pickups, vans, diesel trucks, and electric cars, all backed by warranties and official workshop service.
