With the aim of providing a better user experience, the Cuban Consular Section in Mexico City announced that the modernization of its services includes the development of a new version of its electronic visa platform.

This digital tool will allow for a more efficient, secure, and accessible service for all users. Furthermore, it will manage electronic visa applications for travel to Cuba faster and more easily, including not only tourism but also other authorized travel categories, as the Cuban Embassy stated on its social media pages.

During the transition to the new platform, the issuance of electronic visas at the Consulate will be temporarily suspended between March 26 and 30, 2026.

Therefore, all those interested in traveling to Cuba are advised to submit their visa applications well in advance to avoid any inconveniences in their travel plans.

Specialized media outlets such as TTC highlight that by the end of 2025, preliminary figures from the National Office of Statistics and Information (ONEI) and the Ministry of Tourism reveal that the flow of Mexican travelers to Cuba exceeded 220,000 visitors, consolidating a sustained recovery despite the complexities of the regional context.
