Cuban Ambassador to Mexico, Eugenio Martínez Enríquez, confirmed that flights to Cuba from Mexico are not being suspended.
“We have confirmed that all airlines connecting to Cuba are maintaining their schedules,” he wrote on X.
Among the airlines that confirmed this information is Viva Aerobús, which shared a message stating that planes are traveling with sufficient fuel for the round trip, and therefore reiterating that operations are continuing as normal.
It was also reported on February 8 that the Mexican government was sending more than 814 tons of humanitarian aid to Cuba. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs specified that, following the instructions of President Claudia Sheinbaum, the Mexican Navy’s logistics support ships Papaloapan and Isla Holbox set sail with essential food supplies and just over 277 tons of powdered milk.
Regarding tourism, the Mexican market was among those that grew by the end of 2025, revealing the first fruits of the Tourism Cooperation Action Plan signed between the two countries for the period 2025-2028 last year.
In terms of marketing and promotion, they agreed to exchange experiences regarding the conception, design, and execution of promotional campaigns, prioritizing the use of social media and digital platforms.
Furthermore, they agreed to develop routes that integrate tourist attractions from both countries, organize joint cultural events, share experiences on heritage cities, and promote these events in their respective markets; as well as conduct joint studies to identify tourism trends and preferences.
