WestJet, recently integrated with Sunwing Vacations, announced the resumption of flights to Cayo Largo from Toronto, Canada, starting January 20.

The news was confirmed by Gihana Galindo Enríquez, Cuba’s tourism counsellor to Canada.

In July, WestJet announced its intention to expand connectivity with Cuba for the 2025-2026 winter season, in response to demand from Canadian travelers. Details were released in an official statement from the Cuban Aviation Corporation (CACSA).

Starting December 18, 2025, two weekly flights will operate between Toronto and Havana’s José Martí International Airport, maintaining service until April 23, 2026.

Capacity will also be increased on existing routes, such as the Toronto-Varadero route, which will see a 38% increase to 11 weekly flights; the Montreal-Cayo Coco route, with a 17% increase to seven weekly flights; and the Montreal-Santa Clara route, with a 25% increase to five weekly flights.
